July 5, 2010 family

Finally remembered I had this blog and decided to update  a bit!
Eli was born on October 2, 2008.........so, he has definitely grown since then! lol! He started out at 4 lbs. 11 oz., and so off we went to buy preemie clothes once again....he's now 21 months and still wears size 9 and 12 months mostly, but he's getting bigger and bigger each day and has just learned how to jump...not very much, but it is so cute to watch him........he's a fun little guy!
His sister Emilee will turn 4 in just a few days.......wow where did the time go??
We have a lot of fun with her, and she's especially close to her 'nanny'!....they live right down the street from us, and with the way she acts with me you would think I never get to see her or something! lol! I need to spend a special day with just her more often, but then my daughter tells me that Eli gets jealous........its so hard to work in two days out of every week to even try planning things like that..........maybe i ought to just start planning one a week and alternate the two kids?....any thoughts?.....I don't have as much trouble thinking of things to do with Emilee, but Eli is a little harder to think of things to do with.........but, he's getting easier...
Their mommy just got a new job and starts sometime toward the end of this week I think......and she's also working at Children's Place.....so she will have more hours there.  We will be babysitting a lot, so hopefully i can work in special days with the kids too!.....Their daddy starts a new job today, and will also be a reserve police officer for a small town near here  starting tomorrow. Just glad they have found jobs.

Ronda my youngest, is still looking for a job........hoping that today's interview will go well with her and hopefully she will get it!.....just keeping praying!

My parents .....another story.......for another day....

Finally, nice warm weather!

Well, it's been a while since I posted anything! The wedding was in October.......aside from the usual family blow-ups, everything went quite well........the kid's went on a honeymoon to Branson, saw some shows and did a little shopping. Emilee stayed with me! I think she wondered why mommy didn't come get her, but we kept her pretty busy anyway!
Thanksgiving and Christmas went quite well also.......I finally got to spend a little more time at home instead of having to go to the parent's house. Now that Katie is married, I would like to have them come see us, instead of ALWAYS having to go to grandma's house. I mean, you know it's not like we don't ever see them.......they live less than 5 miles from our house........and, it does get harder as the kids get bigger and have their own lives to manage much less trying to fit in every person that thinks they ought to stop by all the time to see them. I know my dad won't be around forever, but I really don't think he wants me at his house every day either!
The ice storms we had were quite fun during the Christmas season........we bounced back and forth between our house and Kate's apartment.......and Ron went to stay at his mother's...........while me and Ronda stayed with Emilee!! I came home a couple times every day to see if the power was on.........and then, I'd know where I had to go stay. Went out to eat probably more than we normally would have, but when you can't cook and you can't get warm...........what else is there to do?! Really makes you think about those out in the world that live that way all the time............makes you really thankful for what you have.
Also, unfortunately, spring also brings tornado weather. We have already had a bad one touch down from Picher, OK to Neosho, MO. 14 people died in the storms........many people were injured, and many, many people lost their homes, cars, everything. Hopefully, no more tornados will come this year........!
In the mean time, if anyone in the area is looking for a new kitten..........my darling girls (cats) have 9 between them! They are actually my daughter's cats, not mine! 6 were born on April 30th, the other 3 were born May 16th.....so they are still little!
It's a beautiful day outside today and here I sit at the computer! OH, well! Well, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day out there............and remember ........God is Good all the time and All the time God is good!

Life Goes On

Well.....my mother-in-law now acts like nothing ever happened. oh, well, whatever!

Worked on flower vases for the wedding over the weekend......and started printing invitations!

Daughter's wedding is in October.......hoping to have everything done soon!! Went to a card workshop last week.....a lot of fun! Yvonne makes the best cards around! They look like they are going to be so hard to make.......but they really aren't!!

Had the weekend off........this week, Ronda and I are going to Branson on Friday and then I work on Saturday, with Sunday off. HOping to find some really good bargains while in Branson! Ronda wants to buy some school clothes........school starts next weeek.........hard to believe it's gonna be so soon!

Going to miss having her at home more, but I'll get used to it!

Well........I'll write more when I get back from Branson!! Later!

The Ups and Downs of Life

Well.......yesterday was my granddaughter's first birthday!!! We had a really good time up until one of Kate's cousins called to see if it was alright to drive over, meet her in the street, and give her the present she had bought for Emilee. Me, thinking it was quite alright, I mean ...after all she wasn't coming in.......she wasn't even getting out of her car!!.......told her it was fine. Well......Katie's grandmother (in her usual unrational state) flew off the handle........just because she still to this day holds a grudge against her. I didn't know it was going to be such a big deal, but apparently (I was told this) I stir up trouble all the time. I really don't think that I was the one screaming and throwing my grandchildren out of the house! I sometimes wonder if she' s possibly bipolar.........it would really explain a lot of things! I can't imagine being yelled at by my grandparents in the way that she has done to them. Right now, we feel as if we are done with her. ......it will definitely be awhile before I go around her again.........and then, it will only be to see my dad. She has really done it this time...........my children want nothing to do with her......and it's sad, because my mother passed away so long ago that my children never even got to know her. She would have never got so mad that she would have thrown people out of her house...........really makes me miss her.

And, then, after all that drama, we went home only to find out that our cat had died. My darling Ronda, boo-hooed so hard that I didn't know what to do ..........so, I called one of her friends to come over and comfort her.......because I just couldn't do it. I don't know why the cat died.........just know that she did. I mean.........shoot she went for a walk with me and the dog that morning...not that I intended her to, but she did anyway. Well........in April........we had 7 cats. Due to one being killed by a dog, one we gave away, and two were stolen..........and now another one has died.........we are down to two yellow cats..........Simba ( a girl) and Fred (a boy).

So........yesterday was full of ups and downs both.........hope the rest of the week gets better! Till next time!

Happy 4th of July!

Just sitting here thinking about my baby girl being in Milligan, Tennesee today! She went there with a large group from Christ's Church Of Oronogo for a Christ In Youth Conference! It was about a 15 hour drive, not including stops. So, they arrived around 3 in the afternoon on Monday after leaving at 10:45 p.m. on Sunday night! A very long drive, but I'm sure she will have a wonderful time! Can't wait to see her and all of her pictures when she gets back! We've never been to Tennessee, so this is really new to her! She will be back on Saturday afternoon!

Emilee is taking a nap.........and I really need to get cleaned up........welll........I'll do that really soon! I've been making Banana Muffins......last batch is in the oven now! Then, I need to make my RED, WHITE, & BLUE cupcakes for the celebration this evening at my dad's house! Also, I made a garden pasta salad this morning and my hubby made Home-made ice cream yesterday!
My daughter, Kate, and I were making bets on who got to try the ice cream first! WE were right, it was Emilee!! Pa-pa spoils her so much!

I had planned on doing some scrapbooking today, but so far, haven't gotten to it for actually baking!!! I love to bake, but generally don't get around to it! So....the family will appreciate it anyway!!

Got to load some pictures onto the computer too, so I guess I'd better get busy!
Talk to you soon!

Sometimes the journey of life is a rough one!

Well...I just found out today that the man we asked to perform the ceremony for our daughter's wedding in October probably won't be able to do it, because our daughter is now living with her boyfriend. According to our church, she and her boyfriend would not only have to sign an abstinence agreement, but she would also have to move out of their apartment. I tried to get her to stay home until she got married, but I was fighting a losing battle. She is going to marry the father of her baby girl and thinking that she would stay here until then was just not going to happen. It bothers me that my church would not let the preacher decide for himself whether or not he wanted to perform the wedding, but it is just a rule he has to follow to work there, I guess. They said they would call me back, but I don't think it will matter anyway. I just hope that we can find someone else soon.

Above all, I do want them to be at the wedding as their daughter is also in the wedding, and they have been a very important part of our children's lives anyway.

My mood today has not been the greatest, as I was really looking forward to this man performing our daughter's wedding, but rules are rules.........and as long as he will still come, I think we will be satisfied.

I also started a new diet today..........didn't do to bad, but had a few snacks I didn't intend on having just 'cause I was hungry and didn't have the right stuff around me! Will do better, because I want to!

The years are flying by!

June 29, 2007
Welll....took my oldest daughter shopping for a new outfit for her birthday. She will be 19 tomorrow! She grew up so quickly! And, the next weekend.......her daughter, Emilee, will be 1! The year has gone by very quickly.....! I also went to buy her a couple of things for their home .....she's getting married in October! She always uses my strainer for a popcorn bowl, so I bought one for her...........it says it is a salad set, but we all know she will use the strainer as a popcorn bowl! Also, bought her a pitcher and some socks! We are going to take her somewhere for her birthday when I get off work tomorrow!
